DESIGN
ENHANCEMENTS :
The EP10 was engineered and designed by ACI to overcome the
shortcomings of other high-speed-centrifugal blowers
currently in the market. ACI customers wanted a blower
that was reliable and not prone to premature failure.
The engineering design team
at ACI evaluated reasons for premature blower failure and incorporated
the following design enhancements in the EP10 :
The EP10 blower head is
cast and machined as a single piece which has enhanced
blower life and ensures precise alignment of the spindle.
The spindle is designed and comes standard
with integrated, equally spaced hybrid ceramic bearings
configured to specifically provide balanced loading from
the drive belt mechanism.
Ceramic bearings provide numerous design
advantages. Some of these advantages are:
:: |
Ceramic balls weigh
less than traditional steel ball bearings which results
in a lower inertial load and lower operating temperatures
:: |
Ceramic bearings have a higher surface
hardness making them more resistant to wear
:: |
Ceramic bearings expand less with
increase in temperature making them more tolerant
to higher temperatures |
:: |
Ceramic is more porous than steel
and therefore can retain more lubrication which in
turn protects the outer race. |
:: |
The EP10 bearing assembly comes
with a seal which is used primarily to prevent contamination
| |
No idler-arm/automatic belt tensioner
system is needed
Belt Tension for the EP10 is only
about 110 foot-pounds (50kg) instead of 300 foot-pounds
seen on other blowers
Belt load is centered
between bearings thereby eliminating the cantilever effect
seen in other blowers |
